Drawings
Ideas come to life on paper in color or black and white. Sketches and drawings capture daydreams and nightmares, morph into giant paintings and exist as stand alone pieces deserving recognition on their own.

The Tale of the Doodleman
Doodleman was drawn on an 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of paper during a road trip in the early 1970's. It survived all these years in a frame in the home of Jerry Forsythe, Joan's cousin. Jerry submitted the image for the archive in the spring of 2020. Upon seeing how it faded over the decades Joan offered to retouch the original. Jerry mailed the drawing to Joan. Doodleman was found to be in such fragile condition that it was not possible to retouch it without risking further damage. Joan decided to make a new version. Using the original, copies were made, including a black and white and a colored version. The copy was used to recolor the image. The new image was re-framed with the original hidden behind it to protect it from further degrading. It was shipped back to Jerry in the summer of 2020. It was lost. Jerry found the package six months later and Doodleman is back where he belongs.
